On October 21st, Suzhou University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) College of Mechanical Engineering and New HongJi Precision Parts Co., Ltd. held a seminar on career guidance and a report on the “Mobile Book” project. Lu Danwei, Director of the Student Work Office of the School of Mechanical Engineering of SUSTech, Guo Xindian, Counselor of the School, Yue Xue, Deputy General Manager of New HongJi, and Gao Yuzhe of the Human Resources Department attended this activity. At the symposium, we had a face-to-face communication with students on the employment situation and career planning of today's college students, listened to the questions of the senior students on the spot, and answered the questions and provided guidance.

Deputy General Manager Yue Xue analyzed the traditional situation of employment and the employment status quo in the new economy, and elaborated on the job search and subsequent career development planning from the aspects of “self-orientation” and “persistence”. In particular, he emphasized that the first job should not be too high or too low, and that you should start from the grassroots level to consolidate the practical foundation; choose a good enterprise and platform, pay attention to the combination of theory and practice, and realize the value of your own value and create value, and at the same time, constantly improve yourself. Yue Xue, deputy general manager, with his own experience of sticking to the same company for nearly 20 years, told everyone that to do something, it takes time to accumulate and precipitate, and remember to be impatient and overly frequent job-hopping. Only by taking every step in a down-to-earth manner can we accumulate quantitative changes to qualitative changes, and thus get self-growth and enhancement.
The students asked questions about the nature of employment enterprises, personal interest, the contradiction between specialty and career choice, and the handling of some unexpected situations in employment and career choice. Mr. Yue Xue, vice general manager of the company, answered their questions one by one. Representatives of freshmen and senior students from the School of Mechanical Engineering presented the results of the “Mobile Book” project. The project was funded by New HongJi Suzhou, which sponsored the freshman and senior students to design, select, purchase, process and assemble the book box by themselves during the summer vacation. The book box will be presented to the elderly homes for the elderly to put books and newspapers.
Deputy General Manager Yue Xue affirmed the creation and hands-on of the students, and gave professional guidance and summarized the details of practicality, functionality, safety and other aspects of the production of physical objects. The students said that from the practical operation of this project, they have fully practiced their hands-on ability and teamwork ability. Mr. Guo, the counselor, expressed his wish to continue the cooperation with New HongJi on similar projects.
